Can a wide brake pedal be pressed with the left foot?
Can a wide brake pedal be pressed with the left foot? I mean drivers who are missing a right leg,they use a left foot accelerator, but what about the brake? If they have a wide brake pedal can they push it with their left foot? Or do they also move the brake pedal on the left side?
How a car is adapted for handicap varies by the person. Most end up with a lever for braking with a twist handle for fuel.
The idea of using only the right foot for fuel and brake goes back to the use of a clutch. This is still taught today as a means to keep one from riding with a foot over the brake pedal all the time, which causes brake lights to stay on and can lead to premature brake wear.
