Truck Racks and Truck Accessories For Shells, Tonneau Covers, and Truck Beds by Corwin Smith
So you are thinking about accessorizing your vehicle. What Truck Accessories and Truck Racks have you explored? There are usually three different consumer groups: the Shell group, the Tonneau Cover group, and the Open Bed Cargo group.
The first group purchases a truck bed shell. They want to keep their gear dry and safe. Like a crab looking for a home, they search for just the right accommodations to suite their life style. Some like a box look, others a more modern version. Maybe some tint for UV protection or privacy. There are shells with roof vents, and shells with sliding and/or fixed side windows. The biggest and most sought after feature is the locking handle mechanism. Some truck shells have one center latch handle and others have two. Two locking handles is by far the most secure. When it comes to hauling your extra gear there are a couple options for shell group. One option is to mount your accessories on top of your truck shell. The other option is to use the L2S Sport Rack Bracket to mount your accessories inside your shell so you can utilize and organize wasted space.
The second group is the Tonneau Cover group. The Tonneau Cover group also likes to protect their equipment from the elements and maintain a sense of security. There are several different versions of Tonneau Covers. Some are solid and some fold up. The solid kind can be made of plastic, steel, aluminum, fiberglass, or vinyl. The fold up style can also be made of metal, plastic, or vinyl. Each of these can accommodate additional loads by using Truck Accessories like the L2S Sport Rack Bracket that mount on top of the Tonneau Cover or truck bed.
The third group is comprised of the open bed cargo group. This group likes to haul gear and equipment that a cover or shell would restrict. They can load bikes, surfboards, kayaks, skis, and other equipment inside the open truck bed or above bed by using Truck Racks or other Truck Accessories such as the previously mentioned bracket to secure them.
Whatever your choice and style, you can find what is appropriate for you. The deciding factor is what do you want to haul, how often, and what would be the best form of transportation for hauling it, "a shell, tonneau cover, or the open bed cargo method"?
